In this article, we would like to discuss the implications of bound state and scattering states of δ function potential of non-relativistic quantum mechanics in one dimension. The various expectation values in this potential have been illustrated to satisfy the virial theorem. The results of Kronig-Penny model for one dimensional lattice can be nicely demonstrated via this potential. Later on, some perturbation problems in this system have been critically examined to connect the completness relation. The results obtained have been compared with the exact results.
